# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Everyone builds exactly what they want—no compromises, no pickpicking off someone else's plate.
  • Zero cooking required, which means you're actually present with your guests instead of stressed in the kitchen.
  • Those creamy avocados against crispy toast with briny capers and silky salmon create a flavor combo that just works.
02 -
  • Avocados oxidize quickly—only mash them right before serving, and keep that lemon juice mixed in to slow browning.
  • Don't skimp on the toast texture; soggy bread under all these toppings defeats the purpose of having a crispy foundation.
03 -
  • Slice your radishes and cucumbers as close to serving as possible so they stay crisp and don't weep liquid onto everything.
  • Keep a small bowl of extra lemon wedges nearby—people often want a final squeeze of brightness on their finished toast.
